API 5L X56 / L390 Line Pipe Specification :-
API 5L X56 Pipe also called L390 pipe (by ISO 3183), named by minimum yield strength 56,600 Psi or 390 Mpa. It’s a higher grade than Grade B where API 5L has various grades up to X100, so X56 pipe is an medium level, and it requires large quantities in most of pipelines for oil and gas transmissions. API 5L X56 Pipes are produced into seamless pipe and welded steel pipe with Spiral Submerged Arc Welding Pipe (SSAW), Longitudinal Seam Submerged Arc Welding Pipe (LSAW), Electric Resistance Welding (ERW).
- API X56 / L390 Line Pipes ranges in PSL1, PSL2, onshore/offshore, and sour service.
- API 5L X56 PSL1 is for common use material delivery conditions R as Rolled.
- API 5L X56 PSL2 is strict and higher than PSL1 on chemicals, mechanical properties and test requirements.
